Expecting the Isles to come out full of piss and vinegar. Interested to see how Grossmann does. His size and physicality might be needed, but I worry about him with MacDonald as a pair in terms of allowing the Isles to enter the zone with speed. Those two are a good containment pair, but both are prone to yielding carry-ins. That could be really beneficial to the Isles.
So, I caught the tail end of Slap Shot 2, which is a horrible movie (aside from the scene after the dude scores the 2nd Chiefs goal) thinking "They tried to make this into an adult The Mighty Ducks.
Then, on the way to work today, I saw either 14 or 15 Flying V's (the last 2 were tightly bunched, could not see if it was 2 smaller ones or one big one) over about a 1 1/2 mile stretch. This is clearly an omen: something of major consequence in tonight's game concerning Couturier and/or MDZ will occur tonight.

As long as Isles are kept to the perimeter and the forwards are applying back pressure, I'm not all that worried about carry-ins on routine rushes. What worries me in playing the Isles is failed cleared, turnovers between the bluelines or high in the defensive zone.

According to Carchidi, this will be the 14th line combination for Simmonds.
It would be nice to see the guy play on one stable line. I understand injuries happen. But 14 different combos.

The Isles can be dangerous off the rush, and if the Flyers give away the zone too easily, it could be a rough night for Mason.
Failed clears are a big concern, too, especially with that particular pair. I don't fault Berube for dressing Grossmann, just not sure I'd have used him with MacDonald.
